This was quite an unusual job for both me and the company for which I had worked. A remarkably busy customer had an older lower end automation model panel of ours which was not meant to be expandable at all ;unlike most all other models.
Well, you have guessed it; the customer was so busy that they wanted the expansion completed over a weekend and to be back up and running early Monday morning. I was asked if I could do this. After talking with others and contemplating it for days I said that I could do this thing that had never been performed in the field before; the couple of times previously was after physically sending the panel to our shop.
In about a one and one-half-day period (after landing on a Friday evening) I spent a BOAT load of hours from getting the system after dark at the plant on a Friday evening to returning it back mid-day Sunday afternoon for functionality testing.
All wiring work was performed in a hotel room prior to plant startup on Monday morning.
The last picture in the video is the actual plane that I happily boarded just a few minutes after taking it.
