AutoCAD Map 3D is specialized GIS mapping software
I started creating this a few years back after having been the president of a 36+ acre POA. The community was in sore need of a better working map. Although I was not trained to do such, I gathered my experience from previous AutoCAD classes to do so.
The map started with a free survey screenshot from the county appraisal district which included lot numbers and geometry. I further added address numbers along with community features over time to that geometry. The overall map is scaled to the longest geometric straight line in the community from the satellite distance of it via Google Earth.
The actual maps created (in a variety of sizes) are in high resolution and provided to my community for free. This video was created in low resolution purposely. If you want high resolution, please move in and join the board of directors.
This video shows just a few of the dozens of AutoCAD layers necessary to create such a map.
My passion and education are in Electro-Mechanical while focusing on electrical, which has always been the case. I have been concentrating on AutoCAD Electrical for some time now.
