Ready Mixed Concrete Plant Automation
RMC Plant Automation – Typical To All
Readily design and create relay/timer logic (or smart controller ladder logic) to provide functionality that manufacturer software/hardware does not address on a regular basis; I create black boxes which reside between a plant and the control system whenever necessary . Aid electricians in providing proper phasing of power to eliminate the chances of 240 VAC residing between any two points inside of control panels. Ensure that ground faults are preferably near 0 VAC, yet no more than .5 VAC for both safety and preventing weirdness issues in the future.
Install computer-based concrete batch control systems on a solo basis. Train, repair, and provide telephone support for those systems which are either MS-Access or MS-SQL Server based while connecting remotely to them (primarily) via TeamViewer (yet with a wide host of others) as need be to resolve issues.
I install and maintain computer-based control systems on concrete plants. Installs often involves pulls of existing manual switch panels on plants which have minimal to no wiring documentation. Responsible for gathering any electrical documentation available and creating it when not, prior to pulling existing panels, and wiring in the new. Work closely with Electricians when necessary (that are typically on-notice and on-call), although normally not required much, if any.
Work with maintenance personnel while testing/adjusting compressor pressure switches and plant pressure regulators to ensure stable operating pressures are available for repeatable valve reactions. Ensure that flow restrictors on double acting valves are adjusted for the smooth and timely repeatable opening and closing of critical discharge valves to produce optimal ribbon feeds. Address cementacious material aeration and ventilation issues as necessary to maintain optimum and consistent batching/discharge speeds.
Recommend repairs or fabrications to welders as necessary to eliminate problems found.
Traveled to nearly all lower 48 states with the highest concentrations in Colorado, Oklahoma, New Jersey, Wisconsin and Nevada respectively. Traveled to most provinces in Canada with the highest concentrations in Alberta and British Columbia respectively. Several trips just South of the Yukon.
Built and or repaired well over 500 computers from DOS, Windows 3.X, Windows 95, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 7.
First Company 3/1994-1/2006 Customer Service Technician Grand Prairie, TX
Dallas network administrator from 1995 to 1996. Converted network topology from ARCNET to Ethernet. Converted computers from DOS and Windows 3.X to Windows 95 and created the network. Software and tape backup custodian. CNA-Advanced (Certified Novell Administrator). Clientele (CRM-with Accounting Module) Administrator.
Converted a very crude and outdated flat-file (FoxPro) customer service-related database which was very much in disarray in 1996 to a structured database (MS-Access based Clientele) with approximately 5 million records in about one half of a year. Remained as a key administrator to that database through 2006.
Second Company 8/2007-12/2020 Technical Service Representative Irving, TX
Network computers for external ticket dispatch and financial QuickBooks interfaces. Open software firewall ports as need be and work with local IT/dispatch/financial personnel to obtain desired goals.
Created a SQL template that allows for very rapid configuration of software on a new plant that previously took eight hours or longer to configure; basic plant setup now most often time takes two hours or less. Created a complex script which indexes the SQL database to optimize CPU usage as well as stunting database growth enormously.
Private Contractor 2/2006-7/2007 based out of Irving, TX
Created QuickBooks structure to both sell products and services with integration into Square for the receipt of invoice payments via credit card, both locally and remote.
